Sustainable Aviation Fuel

What is Sustainable Aviation Fuel?

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is jet fuel produced from sustainable feedstocks that reduce carbon emissions over the complete lifecycle of the fuel. Depending on the feedstock and production methods employed, SAF can significantly decrease greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout its lifecycle in comparison to traditional jet fuel. In fact, certain emerging SAF pathways even result in a net-negative GHG impact.

Our Sustainable Aviation Fuel Solutions

Syn X Energy's Waste-to-SAF waste gasification technology enables us to produce sustainable aviation fuel from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) that is economically viable.

During our Waste-to-SAF process we produce a valuable form of SYNGAS that is refined into high-performance and advanced sustainable aviation fuel. Other than Municipal Solid Waste, we can also process waste from many other sources; such as sewage sludge, plant waste, waste from the agri-food industry and similar industries into aviation fuel.

Our plant outputs provide a range of valuable inputs to the renewable fuels industry.

  • Diesel
  • Methanol
  • Aviation Fuel

Aviation Fuels from Waste

Waste-based aviation fuels are a key component of the energy transition transforming today's limited supply of low-carbon transportation fuels and creating a local, circular economy. Unlike other renewable energy sources, landfill waste can be converted into aviation fuel to help meet air transportation fuel requirements in many countries trying to achieve the emissions targets of 2030 and 2050.
